Tomboy is yet another piece of otherworldly pop mastery from Noah Lennox. Much like its predecessor, Person Pitch, Tomboy manages to turn bizarre sonics and surprising song structures into truly compelling, earnest music. There are so many lush synthesizers, rich vocal harmonies and cunning drum loops, it’s hard to imagine the task of organizing and directing it all. However, that’s where Tomboy really shines: it sounds incredibly self-assured and purposeful. It’s more forward-thinking than experimental and it sounds quite approachable, even inviting. You can count on this one causing the same seismic shifts in the underground as everything else Lennox touches these days.
