No No Zero
Rough Stuff
(Signed By Force)
Rock ‘n’ roll has always had a special bond with the bump ‘n’ grind. Toronto band No No Zero take that notion and go wild with it. Building on a hard garage-punk sound with guitars front and centre, the band’s debut album, Rough Stuff, is well lubed and appropriate for booty shaking. It’s energetic music full of memorable hooks and dirty rhythms. Singer Pius Priapus has a voice of desperation that suits tracks like “Why Won’t You Let Me Fuck You?” and “Ass Commando,” the latter featuring some amusingly indifferent female backing vocals.

Rough Stuff is the perfect length at 27 minutes. Most couples need no more time than that, right?
