This has potential as an intense racing game, but with a lame single player and no multiplayer—thanks, PlayStation Network outage—wait before picking this up. It’s not the fault of the game designers—Evolution Studios—that the PSN is down, eliminating online matches for now, but it is their fault for the crappy single player. The story is told through terrible animated storyboards with awful voice acting, luckily you can skip most of these. A story is unnecessary, as this series is known for the amazing hectic racing and beautiful visuals. There are lots of Michael Bay moments—a tornado rips through a track, and you can drive on the rooftop of a collapsing building—but until the PSN is fully up and running, it’s best to wait.

It has been up, but even then multiplayer was not available.
