Severely cool-looking bass player/singer/ex-Hole/ex-Smashing Pumpkins/Dad has street named after him in Montreal/photographer/all-around witchy woman Melissa Auf der Maur is coming to the east coast with the Stone Temple Pilots for their November 24 date at the Halifax Metro Centre and to Moncton on November 23 at the Moncton Coliseum. She releases her sophomore solo album Out Of Our Minds, in 2010, and she releases her earthy good vibes all the time via her blog, an excerpt:
“thank you goddess music for inviting everyone into it. no matter how “good or bad” you’ve been, if you commit to her, music rewards you with eternal gifts.”
I love it. Tickets on sale now at www.geg.ca

Hotness does not equal talent. Sometimes the bass player is the bass player for a reason (I should talk, I know).
Wow, where was the attempt made to correlate hotness with talent? Maybe I missed it–but while we’re at it, bitterness does not equal intelligence. Personally, I am grateful to live in a world where a talented bassist can also be a hot singer & songwriter. 😉
This probably makes me sound really old but I saw her back in the day with Hole (at EDGEFEST, my first and last time.) She was funny and very dry, just like her dad. Her first album was kind of blegh (with the exception of “Followed the Waves”) but I feel like the second one will be better. Also, she endorses David Suzuki.
Blech! I was going to go to the STP concert but with her opening for them I have changed my mind. What a waste of an Opener. I’m so disappointed and can’t stand this woman.
