For five years now a lucky, local artist-type has been rewarded for their creativity, to the tune of $25,000. It’s the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia’s Masterworks Art Award and it’s all about supporting art that connects with our lovely province, highlighting national or international accomplishments. This year the five finalists offer a really broad spectrum of works from photography to recording arts to mixed-media installation to design. David Clark’s 88 Constellations for Wittgenstein, Susan McEachern’s Equine Studies, Tim Dallet and Adam Kelly’s Investigation 1, Susan Feindel’s See Below and Sarah Bonnemaison and Robin Muller’s The Warming Hut vie for top prize which will be awarded at Friday’s Creative Nova Scotia Awards Gala dinner, but if you can’t attend, these works are worth a look, see them at nsmasterworks.ca.
