While you were tweeting away and enjoying themed snacks during last night’s Golden Globes, local filmmaker Ariel Nasr was likely taking meticulous tuxedo notes in preparation for his upcoming trip to the Oscars. Nasr and Sam French’s Buzkashi Boys short film, which tells a coming of age story of friendship between two Afghan children, has been nominated for an Oscar in the Short Film (Live Action) category. Send congrats/positive vibes/cummerbund suggestions from now until the February 24 airing of the awards show.
