Sexy heartthrobs Michael Douglas, Kevin Kline, Robert De Niro and Morgan Freeman join together for AARP’s The Hangover in old people comedy Last Vegas. Joining together in Sin City for Douglas’ bachelor party, the four childhood chums bicker, don’t understand youth today and forget their pills. Lazily, Freeman wins $100,000 at blackjack, resulting in a comped hotel weekend where money is no object and the geriatric amusement park ride of wish-fulfillment never stops. Kline and Freeman are sweet and amusing as usual. Mary Steenburgen steals her handful of scenes as a cute lounge singer somehow won over by this group of dolts. Even De Niro finds some moments as a widower with no life left to live. Creepy Michael Douglas, playing a sort of melted Bradley Cooper, is the film’s biggest miss. Putting forth minimal effort, so as not to break a hip, Last Vegas is better left at home.
