An event that sells out year after year pretty much comes with a guarantee of greatness. Back for the fifth year of lakeside good times is the Banook Canoe Club’s New Year’s Eve party, the popular Dartmouth celebration that also raises dollars for restoring the club. So, you can feel really awesome about your end of the year debauchery and how awful the next day might be because, you see, the canoe club is not-for-profit, it takes you party animals to keep it in ship shape. The brain trust at Banook has taken into account that music moods might change during the night so they’ll have the club split into two separate venues from which you can enjoy local talent. One will have DJ Double A spinning out of control with mashups, remixes and original tracks and the other will feature live rock and roll with Fall River’s finest, Adam Baldwin and Gloryhound. Access to the best of both worlds means this party won’t tire easily so before donning your best black and white, slap on an extra layer of deodorant so that you too can keep it fresh into next year.
Banook Canoe Club, 17 Banook Avenue, 9pm-3am, $35/$40, 464-1740, banook@banookcanoeclub.com
