It’s been about 15 years since Fat and Epitaph exploded, gaining international attention for the many bands that now form the pantheon of contemporary punk. With releases or tours from heavies like Pennywise, Millencolin and Face to Face, this year seems to be the era of the early-’90s punk comeback. Unfortunately, time and popularity have weathered the sound of a lot of these bands. But like Pennywise, Lagwagon is still in top form. The band’s EP proves what everyone at last week’s Marquee show witnessed first hand: Lagwagon is still an incredibly tight, energetic and relevant punk-rock band.
