Klarka Weinwurm’s ep may be inspired by the cold loneliness
of hitchhiking across the country, but her lovely voice is quietly
warm, especially when simply accompanied by a strumming ukelele, an
instrument well suited for travel. An album best enjoyed in a silent
room so as to not to lose its nuances and thoughtful songwriting,
Weinwurm joins the astonishing legion of female singer-songwriters that
have graced this region over the past couple of years. “Woodstove
Fires” and closer “True North,” with its sing-along chorus, “I could
not be a better friend,” beg for repeat listens. ep is released
May 20 at The Paragon Theatre.
