Often lost in the influx of mainstream folk-pop acoustic girls,
Ingrid Michaelson is best known for an Old Navy commercial and her
soundtrack contributions to Grey’s Anatomy. But her fourth album
demonstrates this multi-talented artist’s resilience and consistency.
More mature than her previous records, Everybody blends a
feel-good beach singalong vibe with simplicity and a slightly
orchestral element. Tracks like “Soldier” and “Sort Of” are cute and
catchy, but honest and artfully played. Michaelson’s pure, heartfelt
voice effortlessly conveys the depth behind her thoughtful lyricism.
She comes off as a seasoned veteran of life, love and songwriting.
