
Halifax author Ian Colford—whose 2008 short fiction collection Evidence was named a Globe & Mail top 100 book and shortlisted for the Danuta Gleed Literary Awards and the Thomas Head Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award—will launch his debut novel, The Crimes of Hector Tomás at the Company House October 11 (7pm, free, 2202 Gottingen Street). The Crimes of Hector Tomás is a thriller, a novel “about family, deception and betrayal in an unnamed South American country under a brutal military regime.” A book with some meat on it anyway.
