This EP from Winnipeg-based MacPherson is a raw recording of acoustic material, including a cover of the Clash’s “Bank Robber.” Sonically sparse and tastefully under-produced, the songs are infused with a sense of urgency as MacPherson’s raspy, stoic voice reverberates off the room’s walls. The Strathspey feel of “Company Store” harkens back to Greg’s roots, retelling the true story of his grandfather and fellow coal miners torching a company store in vivid detail.
