Ever wanted to shadow a top notch ballet company? Even before Black Swan came out? Well, here’s your chance!
On April 19, Ballet Jörgen Canada is holding their most popular contest, Coppélia for a Day! It will be held at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium and winners will get the chance to shadow the company as they prepare for Coppélia: A Comedy with Love. You’ll get to spend the day hanging out with the ballerinas, you’ll get to meet CEO and artistic director Bengt Jörgen, tour backstage, and also get to watch a full BJC ballet class. It doesn’t stop there, either. At the end of the day, winners will get to see Coppélia from the best available seats in the house and be granted access to a post-show reception.
But you won’t have to bust out those ballet slippers and practice those pirouettes just yet. All you have to do to enter the contest is to go online to www.balletjorgencanada.ca/Halifax, sit back, and wait to win.
In case you don’t win (it happens) Coppélia: A Comedy with Love is later that same day, April 19, at 7:00 pm at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, Dalhousie University Arts Centre. Tickets are $25-54$ and can be purchased online at artscentre.dal.ca, or via phone at 494-3820.
