This week’s New York mag has a Q&A with actor Mark Webber who is currently in Toronto filming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, which has two Halifax connections: “Scott Pilgrim” is a seminal Plumtree song (super-duper bonus fact: Singer-guitarist Carla Gillis once worked at The Coast. Collecting bills. Of course!) and the author of the graphic novels, Bryan Lee O’Malley, used to live here.

Scott Pilgrim is being played by, unfortunately, Michael Cera. BUT the film is being directed by Edgar Wright of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz—maybe a British helmer won’t fall for his emo milquetoast crap and make Cera work for once in his life.
