Sigh. Trevor Poole has done it again. His amazing show The Spectacle has caused me to lose several hours of my life trying to figure out just how he does the impossible…and I’m still no closer to the answer. Sigh. Poole, whose persona is kind of Columbo meets Rod Serling, seems to pull thoughts from people’s heads. He replicates drawings that audience members have scribbled and folded and sealed into envelopes. He “sees” through layers of duct tape, and can reveal the serial number on a twenty dollar bill that he has obviously never seen before. Part of me would dearly love to know how he does all this. The other is just happy to sit back and be amazed.
