The electronica wizard Kieran Hebden (AKA Four Tet) is certainly one of the more adventurous and prolific artists out there. This two-CD retrospective highlights his talents as a producer/remixer and as a composer. The first CD showcases his favourite remixes of the past few years—from artists like Aphex Twin to Madvillan to Beth Orton–demonstrating his preference for rapid-fire blips and beats. The second disc is all Four Tet tracks handled by the likes of kissing cousins Manitoba, Boom Bip and Koushik. Several tracks even get more than one treatment with “A Joy” receiving four recuts. Probably best digested by already-fans; newcomers should try Dialogue or Pause first.
