Innes Wilson and his Opposition have some pretty fond memories of Halifax. “The last time we played Gus’, we destroyed our set and smashed our amps…and there were as many people watching the slot machines as there were watching us,” reminisces Opposition bassist Adam Sturgeon. Crediting the Maritimes for much of their music influence, the Guelph fuzz-folksters happily piled into their diesel to make the 18-hour trek east. Thursday kicks off a mini-Maritime-coast tour with their pals Glory Glory Man United that’ll bring them to Charlottetown and Sackville to boot. Together, these high energy rockers might just coax folks off the VLTs.

Thursday November 25, Gus’ Pub, 2605 Agricola Street, 10pm, $5
