The Belle Comedians take the Outbreak stage at The Company House on Friday.

Take a chance to experience some of the best emerging music on the east coast with Outbreak Halifax---a three-day music event where local bands take the stage at three different locales. Artists include The Belle Comedians, Acres and Acres and Dub Kartel, to name a few, and is organized by the 2013 music business students at NSCC, some of whom have been working with the festival musicians for months now. This is the students' first event after assisting with other festivals over the year. "Finally, we will get to put on our own festival and showcase all the emerging bands we've been managing and developing all semester," says organizer Charlie Grant. They also promise loads of giveaways for the students who come out and give themselves a break from exams. Of the three shows and three-headliner environment Grant explains: "All of the artists have been meticulously selected to make each night a distinct environment, and our headliners are what really set the tone...and Dub Kartel on 4/20, well, enough said."

Thursday, April 18, Bus Stop Theatre, 2203 Gottingen Street, 8pm, $10
Friday, April 19, The Company House, 2202 Gottingen Street, 10pm, $10
