- Diemonds set to destroy Halifax
Just to give you an idea of what to expect tonight when Diemonds hit the stage tonight at The Toothy Moose, here’s a little anecdote that I left out of my write-up about the Toronto rockers in this week’s Coast.
Apparently, the last time guitarist CC Diemond was in Halifax he was a roadie for another band. They were supposed to play two gigs, but after the first they found their way to Darmouth where they came across some LSD. Needless to say, they never made it to the second gig. Instead they spent the night roaming around Dartmouth.
“The best part of the LSD,” recounts CC, “is that it had members of Kiss stamped on each one. So me and Gene Simmons went on a wild ride that night.”
Pretty rock and roll if you ask me. As for tonight, just know that smashing a few bottles and getting kicked out is a sign a respect for these gnarly dudes. So, be prepare for what I hope to be the perfect explosive end to this year’s Hpx.
