Dallas Green’s solo debut Sometimes was something of an unexpected hit, the success of which inevitably drove up interest in its follow-up. While his debut album was a sparse, minimalist effort, Bring Me Your Love tries to maintain the minimalism at its heart, but adds a much warmer, lusher sound to surround that core. Dallas and company have fleshed out the City and Colour sound just enough, especially on gems such as “The Girl,” “Sleeping Sickness” (featuring Gord Downie) and “The Death of Me.” Much like its predecessor, this is an album that will wear the repeat button out on most any stereo system.
