Chamillionaire
Ultimate Victory
Motown
There is a fine line between making pop culture references and simply dropping names. Unfortunately, Chamillionaire fails to recognize where that line is drawn. Ultimate Victory is overshadowed by the fact that this talented emcee feels the need to recite a laundry list of names throughout the disc. It would be one thing if there was a reason, however, there isn’t. One wonders why he does it. That aside, this album is an enjoyable effort, not as interesting or exciting as Kanye’s Graduation but far catchier than 50’s Curtis. With the release of “Hip Hop Police,” Chamillionaire dodges the one-hit-wonder. I only hope these guys find something to say.
