Auger made his name 35 years ago. One could easily be unaware he is still touring and recording, groundbreaking chops intact. He played keyboards on notable numbers from the Yardbirds’ “For Your Love” to the Absolutely Fabulous theme, “Wheels on Fire.” Daughter Savannah sings now, and son Karma drums. The sound is supper-club funky, with little to alarm Auger’s fellow seniors. Still, he’ll inject colourful note clusters when he can. Amid covers of Marvin Gaye, the Doors and Donovan, a couple instrumentals stand out. “Meet Mr. Eddie” and “Soundcheck” should satisfy fans, freaks and historians.
