The future looks artsy.

This isn’t your average night at the gallery. The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is spicing it up, letting loose and getting a little bit kooky for their second annual big top-themed fundraising gala. It’s a red carpet event that encourages “circus formal” attire and raises money for the AGNS’ arts education programs (including their partnerships with community organizations like Phoenix House, Laing House and the Provincial Autism Centre.) Prepare to be amazed by members of the always awe-inspiring Halifax Circus, headed by ringmaster Mike Hirschbach, see what the future holds by visiting a fortune teller and feast on hor d’oeuvres but save room for circus standards like popcorn, candy floss and ice cream. On top of enjoying music, eats and pondering how one can make stilt-walking look so graceful, you’ll have the chance to bid silent auction items that includes two of life’s greatest pleasures, art and travel. Go ahead, let your inner kid come out to play and support making art more accessible.

Saturday June 25, Ondaatje Courtyard (AGNS), 1723 Hollis Street, 7pm, $200
