Rad Halifax local Mary posted this on halifaxlocals.com the other day. It’s a video of Muchmusic clips from Halifax Pop Explosion in 1994. Within lies footage of Sunny Day Real Estate, Stereolab, Treble Charger (good Treble Charger!) and a host of faces you may recognize. I was twelve when this was shot and watching it jerked my heartstrings all over the place, so for those of you that were actually there, be warned; the nostalgia will come creeping. Thanks Mary for sharing this with the world.

wow. nostalgia alert is right. HPX ’94 was such a seminal festival for me as I had just moved to the city from montreal. God i miss those Birdland days. and hardship post. long live Eric’s Trip….
PS: And seeing the Liz band again reminded me why i became semi-obsessed with Liz Picard after that show, which lead me to semi-stalking her the first time i set foot in St John’s – fulling expecting her to hold residence at the ship inn and being utterly disappointed when i found out she didn’t play there every night of the week.
thanks for sharing this. very cool.
