This NSCAD student has been interested in fashion for as long as her memory serves. “I started designing the moment I figured out I could cut up something I already owned and manipulate it into something I liked better,” says Samways. Her clean, minimalist look “considers contemporary art and its effect on fashion trends.” This outfit is from a line titled Soft Serve. All white, it would go well with a dreamy summer night, sipping Long Island iced teas on a hazily lit patio. Currently Samways is designing a collection of tote bags for her brother’s record label, Electric Voice Records. After her studies she aims to run her own independent line.
