Trailer Park Boys head honcho Mike Clattenburg‘s new feature film, Afghan Luke, is having its world premiere as part of Focus Canada, Telefilm’s raft of 10 Canadian films aimed at bringing attention to our national industry at the Shanghai Film Festival. The films, which include recent Canadian critical hits Incendies and Barney’s Version, will be screened from June 11 to 19.
Afghan Luke is a drama starring Nick Stahl—probably best known as John Connor in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines—as a journalist who goes to Afghanistan on assignment for a pot magazine who, as they say in the movies, gets in way over his head.
