You old ignorant cow. You know I’m allergic to bleach and you put the wash bucket in my work area. The boss tells me you did it as a joke two weeks in a row. Don’t ever speak to me again unless you want to be told where to go and how to get there. —Pissed Off Dishwasher

You accepted a job as a DISHWASHER yet are allergic to BLEACH! ~ WTF do you think detergents consist of these days?
OMFG; amazing!
I didn’t know that they washed dishes with bleach these days… what’s wrong with dishsoap and warm water?
Bleach is so harsh on the environment. People will dump it down the drain or flush it down the toilet, and then it comes back to us one way or another, through the food we eat.
OB, your co-worker sounds like a bitch.
Naveed, dry forms of chlorine bleach include chlorinated isocyanurates and chlorinated trisodium phosphate. They are used as the bleaching ingredient in products marketed in dry form, such as cleansers and automatic dishwasher detergents. ~ who knew, eh!
the op mentioned wash bucket in their area and signed dishwasher. i’m not getting this
No shit Painy. What restaurant is this anyway, that has the scum filled, filthy old mop bucket used to clean the floors in the same space as where the dishes that are used to serve FOOD are washed and/or stored?
I don’t wanna eat here.
could also be institutional food service…
i too am sensing a non restaurant situation, not enough information http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/Nomad_ff2…
Maybe the dishwasher is responsible for cleaning the entire kitchen, including the floor? Or maybe they use a bucket to clean the counters and equipment? I used to have to clean the oven at a grocery store I worked in and we DEFINITELY had to use buckets.
Koda beat me to it.
You’re a fucking idiot OP.
Koda, you’re right. OP is coming in contact with bleach constantly and, since she/he doesn’t realize it, isn’t having any kind of reaction.
it’s like those vegetarians that say “I get absolutely SICK when i eat meat” as they horf down a bowl of jello 😀 😀
next time, just punch offender in mouth, problem solved. or you could come back here, and cry and whine some more, you fucking dolt.
There are dish detergents that are chlorine free and maybe this establishment kept such a detergent for this particular dishwasher.
The ignorant cow probably just wanted to see if the dishwasher was really allergic. However, if the dishwasher had gone into anaphalactic shock, the bovine would have realized this wasn’t much of a joke.
Everyone’s allergic to bleach…. it’s a cancerous carcenogen. (*sp – too lazy) My nanny said to use vinegar and water instead
Fill up your own bucket, OB. Don’t put bleach in it though. Duh.
‘Everyone’s allergic to bleach…. it’s a cancerous carcenogen’ – I’m sorry but I had to laugh at this – my old lady used Javex daily (often full strength and without rubber gloves) for 60 years and lived to be 96.
“A recent European study indicated that sodium hypochlorite and organic chemicals (e.g., surfactants, fragrances) contained in several household cleaning products can react to generate chlorinated volatile organic compounds (VOCs).[10] These chlorinated compounds are emitted during cleaning applications, some of which are toxic and probable human carcinogens. The study showed that indoor air concentrations significantly increase (8-52 times for chloroform and 1-1170 times for carbon tetrachloride, respectively, above baseline quantities in the household) during the use of bleach containing products. The increase in chlorinated volatile organic compound concentrations was the lowest for plain bleach and the highest for the products in the form of “thick liquid and gel”. The significant increases observed in indoor air concentrations of several chlorinated VOCs (especially carbon tetrachloride and chloroform) indicate that the bleach use may be a source that could be important in terms of inhalation exposure to these compounds. While the authors suggested that using these cleaning products may significantly increase the cancer risk,[11] this conclusion appears to be hypothetical:
The highest level cited for concentration of carbon tetrachloride (seemingly of highest concern) is 459 micrograms per cubic meter, translating to 0.073 ppm (part per million), or 73 ppb (part per billion). The OSHA-allowable time-weighted average concentration over an eight-hour period is 10 ppm,[12] almost 140 times higher;
The OSHA highest allowable peak concentration (5 minute exposure for five minutes in a 4-hour period) is 200 ppm,[12] twice as high as the reported highest peak level (from the headspace of a bottle of a sample of bleach plus detergent).” – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleach
tl;dr: The concentration of bleach found in household cleaners is significantly lower than the concentration at which it becomes dangerous.
Also, cancerous carcinogen is redundant.
This reminds me of an old joke that used to break us up in uni. In it’s original form, the protogonist is a young man with a severe speech impediment, however, in order to spare Bird an ethical and possibly legal dilemna, in this case we shall make him a Klingon.
A *Klingon* walks into a bar and asks “Do you have any gin?”
The bartender, sensing an oportunity for a jape replies “Sure son, we got 3 kinds of gin. We got Cotton Gin, Hydro-Gin and Carcino-Gin”
The *Klingon* grimaces and says “You clearly have no honor you bloodless p’tagh. Did you know that there are 3 types of turd on your planet?”
The bartender says “Okay, I’m game. What are they?”
“Well” replies the *Klingon “There is mustard. There is custard. And then there’s you, you big shit.” as he eviscerates the bartender with his Batl’eth.
See, humour doesn’t have to be hateful.

Just pour bleach on your cow worker’s clothes and get it over with already.
My nanny lived to be 97. She baked her own bread, grew her own veggies..cleaned everything in cold vinegar/water solution…only ever rinsed peoples cups with cold water under the tap. She wasn’t that great at the cleanin actually. But whatever lies and percentage of chemicals they SAY won’t hurt you…I don’t believe that. Natural is best. Clean your tub out with bleach or scrub your floors with those chemicals and no gloves, those carcenogens are just being sucked right into your body through the skin. Inhalation & ingestion are only two methods of poisoning…there’s also absorbtion.
