My friend works in an office on Hollis Street and she was telling me her coworker parks in a handicapped parking spot on Sackville Street using her husband’s temporary handicap parking pass! The lady even told my friend that she is doing this so she doesn’t have to pay for parking or take the bus and walk to the office from Scotia Square!! The sad part about this all is that it has been going on for 3 years!!! Not only that but I guess this woman parks in a 3 hour parking spot for 8 hours and never gets a ticket or even her tires chalked. My friend said that her and another coworker have complained to the parking ticket people on multiple occasions that this car is parked all day in a 3 hour spot and nothing is done. They have called 311 and they can’t do anything either. What the hell??? How do people get away with this??? Who has a temporary handicap parking pass for three years???!! The pass goes with the person, not the vehicle!! —douchebagsayswhat?

Who issues these passes? Call them? Police? Put strategically placed deck screws under each tire?
Nobody likes a rat!
Access Nova Scotia issues accessible parking passes, including the temporary passes. Your doctor fills out a form and you take it there and get your pass.
Now passes (I think) have the expiry dates on the front, so you could check it out or call parking enforcement and mention that they may be using an expired pass. I’d love to be there to see the look on this hag’s face when she comes out and sees a big fat ticket on her car (because those fines are hefty!)
It’s really disgusting when people do this, OB. My dad had a temporary pass a couple years back after he got out of the hospital. Not once has my mother and I ever used it without him present. And once it expired, we stopped using it (because dad didn’t need it, anymore!). We still have it, but we’ve just neglected to throw it out.
Ugh. What an old bitch this co worker is!
Wow classy.
People get away with this because there’s no vigilante justice in Nova Scotia!! Vive La Revolution and let the air outa that bitch’s tires…. Every day!!!
this is wrong, no two ways about it. but has your friend told her co-worker this to her face?
just a simple ‘that is wrong, it’s a bad thing to do’.
public/peer censure works. its not a shades of grey issue. or a difference of POV. and it’s not getting in someone’s private business.
just say something directly to the person.
BTW… I had to re-draw my head after my Zwarte Miet(y) phase and I think I’m a bit flat-headed. Does anyone else notice the difference or is it just me?
Broken bottles work and look natural in the area. Cost of bottle(s) – Free. Cost of tow truck and four tires – $800ish. Look on their face – Priceless. But I never said that or condone it.
If this pass was a temp pass issued years ago, chances are it’s expired because if they would’ve renewed it (docs) for her husband for that long, it would’ve been switched over to a perm pass.
Temp passes are red, so they’re easy to spot. If it was current, the expiry would be on the front because they started that only a couple years ago.
I congratulate her for making use of an empty parking spot. Anyone that goes to a grocery store can tell you that handicap people are famous for not using their parking spots. Very wasteful people.
