Why do they keep the Bluenose afloat? It needs to go into the Museum of the Atlantic. They could have built Bluenose III with the money spent keeping the current one going. This country can’t even replace a 50 year old Naval helicopter; why do you assume the province can do the same with a schooner of equal vintage. Especially when anything to do with it’s upkeep is so heavily entangled with patronage politics.
They should take that flotsam out into the ocean and resurrect U-boats to use that as target practice. Somebody made a mint from this boondoggle, bet it wasn’t any Bluenosers…oops, I forgot, the leader of the demised orange color may have had his hands on or in the till(er).
There is nothing left of the Bluenose II, they put that shit through the wood chipper. I doubt that many people will flock here to tour a ship museum, with a brand new 5000 dollar washer/dryer set from leons. Besides, think of the “view plains”, we don’t want those masts blocking our view of the abandoned oil refinery.
We could sell it to the British MND as a “fully functional fishing and racing schooner” – get a little payback for those 4 diesel-electric bathtub toys they snookered Jean Poutine into taking off their hands.
