Taxes in Nova Scotia wouldn’t be so high if people would stop leaving. If people stayed, jobs would be created and everyone would have an opportunity to move up in the world, and do it here in Nova Scotia! I’m sick of seeing articles about how crummy the economy is here and that people are leaving for Alberta and Ontario. Fuck upper and western Canada! Why the defeatist attitude? Why do these people think they can’t make it here? Take a drive through Bedford, Portland Hills in Dartmouth and all the other nice neighborhoods in HRM. The houses and apartment buildings in these areas are not cheap to be living in. But how do they all still manage to be occupied? Because there are plenty of people who can afford them. And how do they afford it? There are tons of good jobs here! How do you think THEY made it? They worked very, very hard. That is the noble, respectable thing to do. I will never leave this place. I do better and better every year, and guess what? I didn’t go out west or anything like that! That’s a success story for you! -Loves Her Job And Life in Halifax

Just because YOU have a very successful retail business on Spring Garden Road, doesn’t mean everyone can use their parents’ money to set up shop, toots.
Um, let me tell you something, hun:
About maybe 1-5% of those people residing in those areas actually worked excruciatingly hard for those positions that allow them to afford these homes, and they probably went out west for experience first.
The rest comprise of two groups of people: (1) those with connections who had their top-paying jobs handed to them, and (2) those who are in debt up to their fucking eye balls because they can’t actually afford the homes but want to keep up with image (because they’re fucking insecure morons).
Don’t leak menstrual blood on my hot dog and tell me its ketchup–job market sucks ass in NS and you know it!
I was going to ask how you manage to type with your head in your ass but then I realized you have to take it out once in awhile to breath, so that’s probably when you get to type.
All our 200 bachelor of commerce students the univerities pump out every year get jobs in NS just like the OB!!!
Let them leave.
Why beg them to stay when they’ll be unhappy here and drag the rest of us don? Let them go party, learn life lessons and get an STI. They’ll soon realize the grass ain’t greener in TO and come back. Like I did. And Joe. And Mary. And Jesus. And…
Haliflorida.
Ahahaha. OP is a liar and an idiot.
Take a scroll through the job bank for job ads and you’ll see just how cheap employers can be here. They’re only willing to pay a buck above minimum wage for professional jobs. And yeah it is expensive as fuck to live here, that’s why everyone is shacked up or there’s 5 college students living together in one house. I like nova scotia, it’s the employers, I despise. Cheap pigs!
Watch out for the bumps!!….
Yours truly.
Thanks for standing up for HALIFAX
BS/PK – they could also open a successful retail business in a trailer in North Preston?
Depending on what they sell, Baz (machetes?), I’m sure their business would be very successful in that location.
Too soon?
Ahhh – grooming gangs come to HRM.
Unlike Bradfordistan, Birminghamabad and the Caliphate of Woolwich, ours will only become muzzies after a stint in the greybar motel.
Taxes aren’t the problem – It’s how the money is spent
I hope your business fails.
Which one — the very successful retail business on spring garden road, or the emporium of weapons in Preston? ^^^
