I sent in a complaint months ago about this very aggresive bred of dogs. Since I wrote that there have been more attacks from this beasts than I can recall. here’s the stats for those silly people that defend them. pit bulls are responsible for about 60 percent of dog attack fatalities each year, which is “way out of proportion” compared with other breeds – especially since pit bulls only make up less than 5 percent of the American dog population. that may be for the states of america but its hard to deny it or stand up for these beasts. so here my list of why these creatures are the way they are-

1. Pit bull was raised to be aggressive
2. Pit bull was abused
3. Owner of dog was recently baptized
4. Pit bull was not spayed or neutered
5. Pit bull was injured or sick
6. Pit bull was fed after midnight
7. Pit bull was protecting something (owner, food or water, reputation)
8. Pit bull was scared or startled
9. Pit bull was redirecting aggression from another source
10. Owner refused to sell their soul to Satan

  1. Ohh FFS. The only thing you left off was: Pit Bull lied about smoking crack and made crude references to oral sex while supporting shale gas exploration.

I’ll take the company of a dog over that of most people.

  2. My Dad used to say people with dogs make terrible neighbors…….yeah I dont know what it means either!

  3. Pitbull keeps on biting, proud Mary keeps on burning, rolling, rolling….

Seriously, I don’t understand why owners of dogs who they know are aggressive don’t get muzzles for them to keep passersby safe from any action by the dog. It’s not rocket science people.

  4. Just so you know – That study that you are quoting from (at least I think you are using this particular study since you don’t cite the actual source) doesn’t only list pit bulls but all “large molosser breeds” which includes, but is not limited to, pit bulls, rottweilers, presa canarios, cane corsos, mastiffs, dogo argentinos, fila brasieros, and their mixes.

  5. It’s easier to support the notion of a breed ban than to suggest that certain people not be permitted to breed. The sad truth is that the latter option would solve more societal problems.

  6. I did a lot of rolling and burning on vacation… didn’t see any pit bulls and wasn’t baptized. I did sleep with Satan…

  7. You mention how the proportion of pit bull bites are so much higher than other breeds
You know why so many complain about pit bull bites ?
No one wants to ADMIT they were bit by a Yorkie …
Or other little lap dog ~; )

  8. I know which breed I’d rather take to the Al-Cruds Day Minstrel Show at Queens Park >; )

Just kidding. I’d never put a beloved pet in danger, no matter how well equipped he is for self defence. That’s just irresponsible.

  9. The worst thing about dogs is that they are about as dirty as can be. Also they often jump up and ruin your clothes. I don’t have any dog-people friends because of these two reasons, I suppose.

  10. THE OBVIOUS SOLUTION

    10. Owner refused to sell their soul to the devil.”

Yes, I think you’ve got it here. Pitbulls keep on biting because their owners refused to sell their souls to the Devil. The Devil continually asked the owners if they would sell Him their souls, but the owners refused. But it is not clear why the owners refused to sell their souls to the Devil. Greater clarification is required.

One might hypothesize that the pitbulls were in favour of their owners selling their souls to the Devil and, when they failed to do so, became aggressive and instead of stopping biting continued to bite possibly at an even greater rate. However, the hypothesis turns on whether or not pitbulls actually have knowledge or even minimal awareness of the Devil and other such metaphysical entities. It does, in other words, seem a bit of a stretch.

An alternative hypothesis turns the spotlight on the owners themselves since of the two, the pitbulls and the owners, it is the latter who one might suppose have knowledge of the existence of the Devil and, given such knowledge, refused to sell their souls to the Devil. I think we’re on smoother ground here.

The pitbull owners refused to sell their soul to the Devil for the same reason that others in history have done the same thing. They refused to sell their souls to the Devil because, knowing Him to be evil and, in contradistinction, knowing themselves to be good, they refused to fall in with His plans. Simply put, the pitbull owners were virtuous, they were morally upright and wanted nothing to do with the Devil. That is the obvious solution. Of course, the price to pay was that the pitbulls kept on biting.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!

  11. Here is why nobody cares what you think, OB:

    1. Ray K was raised to be aggressive
    2. Ray K was abused
    3. Ray K’s ho was recently baptized
    4. Ray K was not spayed or neutered
    5. Ray K was injured or sick
    6. Ray K was fed after midnight
    7. Ray K was protecting something (his ho, food or fracking fluid, reputation)
    8. Ray K was scared or startled
    9. Ray K was redirecting aggression from another source
    10. Ray K’s ho refused to sell their soul to Donald Trump

  12. What does the owner being baptized have to do with the dog’s behaviour? I’m not religious so i’m genuinely asking. It’s like saying “Well the owner dyed her hair ginger and.. you know… right?”

    No. I don’t actually.

Also, did it ever occur to you that most people who get pit bulls get them to RAISE THEM TO BE ATTACK DOGS? If i raise a greyhound to bite and be aggressive it will.

Did it occur to you that people who want pits tend to want them for the wrong reasons and THIS is why you see more of them being aggressive than other breeds? Pff.. probably not.

I bet you also have opinions on the natural aggressive tendencies of different races, don’t you? No, don’t argue. I know you won’t admit it. Racism is bad when it comes to people but whether about animals or people, racists, in my experience, are racists. Flat out. This is how you judge things. “It looks like this so it will behave like that.” This is how your head works. And I bet all my money you’ve got lots of other opinions about people too.

  13. Buddha, if you aren’t a dog person that’s fine. Don’t ever get one. Or fall in love with anyone who has one. Or might get one. Dog people need dogs. Animal people need animals. So don’t try to change their reality and avoid dogs and i don’t see any real problem.

  14. “Also, did it ever occur to you that most people who get pit bulls get them to RAISE THEM TO BE ATTACK DOGS?”

Nice sweeping generalization of pitbull owners!!!!

We (humans) have exploited and abused every single living thing in existence, including our own. We are the monsters in this world, not the animals that show their cruel and abusive masters unconditional love.

  15. I read this posting as theatre of the absurd, that’s why I chose #3 as the answer. it makes as much sense as 42 being the answer to the meaning of life.

  16. from the number of pitbulls in shelters, rescue, adoption pages I would say that is not a sweeping generalization, I would say its lamentably true.

page after page of the poor dogs on the pound website, picked up in porters lake, spryfield, then up for adoption and because they are pits, the qualified adopters are low in numbers. except for the assholes of course. my very first shelter pittie ever was a sweet girl who had been the love of her owners life, an 85 year old woman who had to go into a nursing home. stroke. her family put Maggie into the shelter, none of them would take her. she was utterly sweet. but we had to turn away everyone who came for her. all assholes who wanted the reputation of the pitbull, not the reality of this sweet dog.

these dogs are bred like mad, puppies sold like popsicles. no training, no care. tied up like wretches. then chew through the ropes and end up in the pound. no one claims then. no one wants to pay the fine. they mean that little to the owner. probably because they realize how much it would take to turn them into anything except a face licking machine.

you know what really bugged me a couple of years ago? some guy organized a ‘get to know pitbulls’ thing. all sorts of rescues attended and lot of coverage. but the idiot who organized it was parading his pits around with huge fight collars on and he was wearing his baggy ass shorts and huge sneakers and all the gold chains. wtf???? as if that image is going to help.

and in the meantime, a lot of people who love dogs have houses full of pits because otherwise they will be killed. and the assholes keep breeding them.

and yes, people are a waste of skin unless we become food for animals. we serve no purpose on earth apart from that.

  17. well I wanna be called an idiot too. I was agreeing with scissors.
when did you become RAGE instead of RAG? lost your towel?

  18. This again? I agree wholeheartedly with Harper even if he’s not calling himself that, being a nature and animal lover, I lost my faith in humanity by the time I was ten.
That said, the unfortunate pit bull or pit bullesque dog attracts status people as much as dog people. This kind would have a Siberian Tiger on a leash if they could. Their “care” for the dog will probably keep it on the fearful and defensive and, if on the loose, possible dangerous.

  19. I’m with Hoist on the idiot remark. I know many pit bull owners whose dogs are the biggest babies I’ve ever scratched on the chinny-chin-chin. And since some of the actual dogs are black, the dog-owners are not racists too!

  20. for chrissake no one said ALL pit bull owners. read!

but the bad ones outnumber the good ones. hugely! just look at the shelter postings every day for a month. it’s awful and heartbreaking.

  21. “Psssst, Buddha. Wrong cult.” SDI

    Oops .. hee!

“LOL like you have any friends Buddha.” Sodeypop

    Sounds like an insult!

Wish I could read your posts, but they’re soooooooooo dull! Seriously, you should patent your writing style as a WMD!

  22. “but the idiot who organized it was parading his pits around with huge fight collars on and he was wearing his baggy ass shorts and huge sneakers and all the gold chains. wtf????”

Believing in stereotypes is wrong, GDM. Its just plain wrong to catagorize people like that.

Thank you Buddha, thank you. I know that if you found my style of writing soooo dull as to be a WMD, then I knew I was doing something right.

    Thanks again.

  24. Some facts:

    (1) Pitt bulls are larger and stronger than the average dog, and may have been bred features associated with fighting dogs (aggression to other dogs, e.g.). This means that pitt bull owners should take extra precautions with respect to training and socialization.

    (2) The stats you describe are flawed because they are based in part on media reports and erroneous identification of “muscular mutts” as pitt bull-type (bully) breeds. My dog is a lab/chesapeake/aussie cattle dog mix and so many people mistake him for a pitt bull. Pitt bull bites make for good news whereas non-pitt bull bites receive no media attention, or at least the breed of dog is never identified in the story.

    (3) Most dog bite fatalities are induced by “resident” dogs as opposed to “family” dogs. Given that thuggish and irresponsible assholes make up a disproportionate share of pitt bull owners, I would surmise that many of the pitt bulls involved in human fatalities cannot be characterized as family pets.
