So, a person who spends his life saving the lives of others writes a passionate article in the paper about the tragic, all-too-common and preventable loss of teenage life due to drinking and driving…then along you come and write post after thoughtless post against him. If you stand against someone who stands against the loss of young lives…where does that leave you standing? —beats me

It won’t do anybody any good to deify dead drunk drivers.
Yes it’s horribly sad and there is absolutely a place for lamentation and sorrow. But there is ABSOLUTELY also a place for ANGER TOWARD THE DRIVER. If he had lived, would you still feel sorry for him? If he had killed someone else would you feel sorry for him?
I lost someone close to me at the hands of a drunk. I was also in a bad accident as a child at the hands of a drunk.
Dead or alive, they anger me. And i will not justify that. Nor should i have to.
Nobody DESERVES bad things to happen to them. But with some people, you’re not surprised. That’s all. Is a public forum where his or her family and loved ones might read the comments the right place for anger? No. Probably not. But people have EVERY RIGHT to feel angry about this.
And there is nobody else to blame now, is there?
they were all drunk, not just the driver….no surprise in a city where there is nothing to do but drink and tonsss of liquor stores lol
STANDING
“If you stand against someone who stands against the loss of young lives… where does this leave you standing?” beats me
Does someone who stands against someone else who stands for something necessarily stand against that something or can someone stand against that someone else yet also stand for that something which that someone else stood for? In other words, is positionality central here or are there other factors?
But is if this is so, if someone can indeed stand against someone else who stood for something yet can stand for something else which that someone stood for,
just where is it that someone who stands against someone who stands for something else stand? In other words, is there conceptual room for someone who stands against someone who stands for something else in those cases where the two alternatives – standing against someone but standing for something else which that someone stood for – are mutually exhaustive in respect to places to stand?
It would appear that there are no more places to stand. It is time to leave the room.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
Ya makes yer choices & takes yer chances …. Sometimes ya lose .
Dat’ s juss da way she be by’s ,
Sorry. Friday nights you can park downtown overnight and you won’t even get a ticket. It’s sheer laziness that drives legions of these fucking fools to risk innocent lives.
It’s the most selfish fucking thing you can do. To get behind the wheel just because your fat ass can’t be bothered to walk a block to catch a bus. To endanger lives (including your own sorryass one) because you can’t be bothered. Because YOU are lazy and worthless. Because the world has to revolve around YOU and YOUR BAD CHOICES.
I just hope no innocent person was killed this time.
You fucking heard me.
