I’ve never met a cashier in a grocery store nor a retail clerk in a mall that wasn’t always friendly, kind, helpful. As well, never once have I had bad service in a restaurant or bar. I want to say thank you to all the gifted employees who work on the front line. I think it should be mandatory that the least amount of a tip in a bar or restaurant should be $10. You had me right up to the point about “mandatory minumum” tipping. It is not an entitled reward for doing one’s job, nor is it a compulsory augmentation to one’s salary. It is a gesture of personal appreciation, from the customer to the server, for going above and beyond a basic level of service. It isn’t “crowdfunding” a businesses payroll.
This doesn’t look like a cashier/server baiting us unknowing, simple folk, does it?
Oh i’ve had plenty of shitty service. But that’s just a testament to how hard the job is. So hats off to those who smile in the face of it 🙂 This tip is yours.
