I’ve never met a cashier in a grocery store nor a retail clerk in a mall that wasn’t always friendly, kind, helpful. As well, never once have I had bad service in a restaurant or bar. I want to say thank you to all the gifted employees who work on the front line. I think it should be mandatory that the least amount of a tip in a bar or restaurant should be $10. It’s feels so good to be treated so good time and time again. THANK YOU! —ladyhammondroad

You obviously need to get out more.
You had me right up to the point about “mandatory minumum” tipping. It is not an entitled reward for doing one’s job, nor is it a compulsory augmentation to one’s salary. It is a gesture of personal appreciation, from the customer to the server, for going above and beyond a basic level of service. It isn’t “crowdfunding” a businesses payroll.
This doesn’t look like a cashier/server baiting us unknowing, simple folk, does it?
Oh i’ve had plenty of shitty service. But that’s just a testament to how hard the job is. So hats off to those who smile in the face of it 🙂 This tip is yours.
Mandatory minimum gratuity? Please, let’s hear more of your brilliant ideas. /s
Ivan said it perfectly, we are not here to crowd-source jobs. If there were minimum mandatory tips, why even bother having a GRATUITY fee ?
Only 10 bucks? shit yah, you just saved me a pile of money.
