Monday, around 1700. I don’t know car models, so no idea what you were driving, except it was a small car with ‘baby on board’ back sticker. I followed you up Prospect, and yeah, you were going a little under, no problem. and then you choked a bit entering the highway, but when you jammed on the brakes before entering the merge into Halifax the semi behind me just about gave me a proctology goose.
If it freaks you out, why not take an alternate route? —now the trucker has to marry me

this baby on board douche gets around.
Great Bitch:)
“Now the trucker has to marry me”. Love it.
I don’t get why people are so timid and nervous to drive here…
and thus enrage the actual, local drivers who get along just fine 99% of the time.
I knew people from back home that wouldn’t visit halifax purely based on the fact that they didn’t want to drive in this ‘insane traffic’.
I get you’re used to seeing maybe 5 cars in your 40 minute trip to get the weekly groceries or whatever but jesus, how the hell did you get a license???
Try sharing the roads OP, its the law. You don’t know how little experience that driver had. Please don’t be so quick to jump to conclusions and judge and insult other people. Their actions could have saved a life, not yours.
” Their actions could have saved a life, not yours.”
What the fuck does that even mean? Must be some sort of convoluted bible quote.
I cycle back and forth to work since I quit smoking, so this isn’t a problem for me.
Whatever happened to the defensive-driving strategy around anticipating sudden proctological gooses?

my bitch, not a real bitch, but a sigh ‘n wonder. I did have a good space between me and her but that sudden dead stop decreased the safety zone dramatically, and of course, the semi was accelerating to enter the road. my defensive driving lessons have paid off over the years, in many situations like this. I had to hit the shoulder on this one to avoid the truck coming up behind. he was able to stop within the space I just vacated. so all ended well. but really, there are alternate routes (and not the widely terror inducing roundabout)
it should have been an easy merge. not car free as far as the eye can see, but easy enough. good gaps. I don’t begrudge someone being afraid of the highway, but if so, avoid it.
People have to understand that stopping in a merge lane is exceedingly dangerous. It’s like that driver spreads their panic to those around them.
Just give it a bit of gas to get ahead of the car or let it coast a bit and slip behind the car. It doesn’t seem that difficult.
By the time a car enters off a merge lane, it should be going with the flow of traffic. Not is it only dangerous and irresponsible to stop in a merge lane, it is also dangerous to come off it going too slow
gad, I just realized I used the word ‘timid’ instead of ‘faint’. shady pines here I come.
