Why does go time not work? It has been more than 1+ month of having one of the only useful parts of Metro Transit completely out of service.
You can’t call Go Time to see when your bus is coming, why does Go Time even exist?
And now you can’t even use google maps, which was the only thing that worked while go time didn’t.
What, exactly, are our tax dollars paying for if they can’t even keep the basic components of its customer service tier on line and working?
Last year you screw us with a strike in the dead of winter, and this year, in the same window, we’re just supposed to guess and hope the bus shows up?
You owe a GIANT apology to every single transit user in HRM.
At the very least some free service, or ANY SERVICE AT ALL, would be appreciated by the people who depend on Metro Transit.
Please, get your act together. The citizens of HRM are suffering, and also PAYING THROUGH THE TEETH for the right to do so.
It’s reprehensible. —All Our Tax Dollars Down the Drain

  1. Whooo, easy there pilgrim. That strike fund ain’t exactly gonna fill itself, now is it? Just wait till they start “crowdfunding”
Or, is that what they’re doing now?

    Yeah – it can suck.

  2. Google maps are fine for me too.

You could always get a rider’s guide, ob, or check the schedules on MT’s website.

The rider’s guide served me well on the road before my iPhone purchase and I have never had to use go time ever because the guide/online schedules work well.

  3. I am so mad with metro transit.. I think they need to smarten up and start working on their customer service. One time I called to speak to someone because Go Time said my bus should be there and ten minutes later I called to see if the buses were running late (as I have to be to work on time) and they told me the bus schedule doesn’t follow what it says on Go Time and I will have to just wait until it shows up..

  4. Just another sign of the times. Or as some might want to see it, progress. Dress warm and chill out; just think of all the money you’re saving!

  5. OB, Google Transit and Metro Transit are two different things, Metro Transit isn’t responsible for google one bit! Get your facts strait before you bitch!

  6. Yeah, ‘n learn yerself how to speak and right good to…

It’s STRAIGHT, not strait – go back to Cape Breton.

  7. I’m pissed about that too. How many minutes on my cell phone have I wasted because Go Time works on some stops but not on others. And the transit schedules are all well and fine, if the buses arrived on time and if you can calculate the time it takes your bus to get from a terminal or major stopping point to you. Metro Transit really does need to resolve this issue quickly.

  8. An empty bus is and will always be a happy bus… Love an empty bus… I could drive an empty bus till the cows come home, so peaceful… Man I love empty buses, as empty as sarge’s empty head. Dumb fuck…Easy to talk about things you know nothing about, hunh shultz?

  9. Yesterday I was waiting for the 60, I was 5 minutes early. Scheduled time arrives and nothing. Keep waiting because I’m at Shearwater and WTF else am I gonna do, it’s the only bus. 25 minutes later what turns up but 2 number 60’s. ANNOYING. It’s the only bus that goes out to the passage. I can’t believe there’s anything too wild and crazy out there traffic-wise. Why can’t the bus be on time? 🙁 It’s scary to wait around in the dark at Shearwater and not have a bus turn up!

  10. I really feel for all the people who are held hostage by our F’in so called transit service.
It needs a massive enema, bus routes need to stop going from 20 miles out into the boonies , like the 62 & driving back to the bridge. there should be a shuttle system that crosses the bridge only. there should be a number of main stations where the outer buses bring travelers to them & the inner shuttles go from there. Small downtown buses , larger outer buses…faster, cleaner & at no time can 2 or even 3 buses coming from one location all show up at the same time …its ridiculous.
But if you really want a transit change…you are going to have to leave this backwater dump. Because this is old boy’s NS & nothing ever changes here , except by accident !

  11. Waiting for the bus outside the Burnside jail at night is scary as hell. There’s no bus shelter or what’s there, is across the street from the actual bus stop .It’s where the patients from the Forensic Unit sit to smoke.
    It’s just not safe.

  12. I had some issues with Google Maps transit the other day myself OB so I was feeling your pain… I was getting the 52 minute walk option. Not my favorite. I googled google transit not available, and found that Google from time to time has outages in other cities, so I’m sure Halifax is no different. Perhaps they were upgrading the routes. You have to look on the bright side because you know Metro Transit couldn’t mismanage things any more than they already do. So thank goodness for Google, even if it it goes down time to time (this would be a first since they started as far as I know)

  13. But Tim, you miss the smug satisfaction of doing your bit for the environment, the realization that you are spending time that you will never get back, the chance to visit areas of our fine metropolis that are usually only seen on the nightly news, and the opportunity to interract with diverse and fascinating locals, while dodging their hapahazardly aimed gunfire or navigating around their aircraft carrier-size strollers.
    For shame. >; )

  14. Yes Ivan, I thank the good lord for giving me a fear of driving which allows me to ride metro transit everyday..

  15. LOL Boru.
If I believed in an underworld, then Charon isn’t a ferryman; he’s a dues paying member of Local 508

  16. But John my job gives me all that. I go to the best neighbourhoods, meet all the nice pits and rotties, talk to the best people (and in reality there are a lot of good people in those areas). As for the gunfire, as long as I am directly in front of them, I have nothing to fear as none of them know how to use a firearm properly.

  17. L-O-Flippin-L. Beautiful Ossifer Tim. That’ll keep me smiling for the rest of the day>: )
And remember, be careful out there.

  18. Go figure, Wheels likes to drive around in an empty bus, wasting our money on fuel and wages. Bravo, douchebag!!!

  19. Dumb Fuck a.k.a., SHITD, Sargeant Shultz, I could drive an out of sevice bus for ever!!!! Unfortunately they do not have a route that is called OUT OF SERVICE. All the bus drivers would fight for that one and only the senior drivers would get a crack at it. And speaking of driving till the cows come home, I need to go back to work and pick up bovine and take their bellyaching, snivelling, crybaby, ungrateful asses from point A to point B. Dumb Fuck…

  20. HarperDevil, I know we’ve had our differences in the past, but if you need a lift to the “Burn Ward” I’m free today >; )

Who needs to unionbash, when the members do such a fine job of it themselves.
Hah! – doing someone else’s work for them – how’s that for irony.

  21. Also , for the sake of credibility, anybody throwing around phrases like “Dumb Fuck” should either learn how to spell Sergeant correctly or stick with the abbreviation Sgt. If you want to be strictly correct, and an insufferable show off in the bargain, use his actual Luftwaffe rank of Hauptfeldwebel.

Trivia note: Actor John Banner was a Jewish refugee from Vienna, who lost most of his family to the Holocaust. Robert Clary (LeBeau) was a prisoner in Buchenwald, when it was liberated in April 1945. These will be on the midterm.

You can refer to me as Kernel Sonofabitch, since my jokes are so corny. *narf*

  22. ” pick up bovine and take their bellyaching, snivelling, crybaby, ungrateful asses from point A to point B”

First…They don’t have to grateful, they paid for their service, TWICE! Once in taxes and the second in fares.

Second… Anyone with you’d attitude should not have a customer service job. You are there to SERVE.

  23. Ivan, most of the main German characters in Hogan’s Heroes were Jews who either were in Camps or escaped before or during the war. In fact when Werner Klemperer (Col Klink) accepted the role, he had only one request – The Germans were never to get the upper hand on the show.

  24. Werner Klemperer and Howard Cain (Gestapo Major Hochstetter) were both in Judgement at Nuremburg, which also featured Montgomery Clift and Judy Garland (at that time two of the most damaged people in Hollywood) as victims of Nazi racial legislation.
    Very good flick.

  25. Ivan was “Judgement at Nuremburg” a made for TV movie? I should ask the year the flick was made?

  26. It was initially a teleplay on CBS and then in 1961 a theatrical film with Spencer Tracy, Marlene Dietrich, Burt Lancaster and Maximilian Schell (who won an Oscar).
    Talky, but very gripping.

  27. my eyesight was a lot better, i can always see my feet cause they are flippers

  28. my sister was nicknamed ‘pontoon’ in jr high….

    and tuskarora

i was called ‘dirty mouth dobbin’

  29. One winter night my wife was leaving work 11:30pm from Halifax and was stuck at the Dartmouth Bridge Terminal and because of the weather MT took the buses of the road. A transit superviser saw her and an other lady stranded. He offered them a ride home. The one lady in Eastern Passage and my wife near Penhorn Mall.

Has anyone considered that this city doesn’t accomodate easy traffic flow espsecially in day time). I ride the bus and I expect delays. I adjust my schedule accordingly. The world is not perfect and neither am I. It’s human nature to be imperfect. You can’t be 100% flawless.
