They’re in the window. It shows when we open and WHEN WE CLOSE. Those morons who come in at five to close are the stupidest people in the world and it would make my day if one of them choked on their sandwich right there. At least an ambulance would get you and your friends out faster. —People Hater

At 5 to, you are still open so serve the customer. Now to the person who walks in at 5 to, have the courtesy to know what you want and be quick about it and have payment ready.
Hey Snowflake, welcome to the real world. This world will not end because you are 5 minutes late getting to T H for your double double. The only reason that you have a job is that someone is willing to spend their money at your store. Otherwise NO customers = NO money = NO job.
Besides, staying a few minutes later might make up for the time that you spent texting instead of actually working.
Work elsewhere?
5 Minutes? Are you kidding me? Once you graduate high school and then complete your post secondary and get a real job and have to work several hours after your ‘shift’ to get the job done, or come in on the weekend, or on your vacation because something needs your attention; maybe then you will appreciate the fact that it was only five minutes.
In the meantime, I’ll take footlong Italian BMT on herb and cheese, toasted please.
The issue is with your employer – not the customer. Either a) the employer should allow staff to specify take-out only after a certain hour or b) the owner should plan for the customers staying for as long as an hour to eat and staff should be paid for an hour past the time food service ends. Staff can use that time to tidy up behind the counter/prep for next day. Customers coming in just before food service ends should be informed that the shop closes one hour after last food service.
It’s not the customers job to manage the business and your schedule.
Sure, technically a store is open set hours, but someone who goes in 2 minutes to close and wants to talk tech for 45 minutes is technically an asshole.
Get out of retail. That’s the last place a self-professed ‘People Hater’ should be. Who needs to see your miserable scowling face at the cash?
OP, clearly you do not understand that if you don’t have authorization to kick the customer out, then your shift does not end at a specific time.

T.T, i couldn’t agree more. I dislike most people, therefore I work construction. More money, less people. P.S not much more money.
Maybe your sign should be changed so that your store closes at ten to the hour but then you would be pissed at the folks who come in at quarter to? Would you not?
Your bitch just proves you are a bitching person no matter what.
Hey OB, had a “customer” show up 4 minutes before closing time at a government office, I’m not paid overtime. Still met the job requirements, worked a little late, got stuck in traffic and the morale of the story, happy customer at slight inconvenience to me, but not life ending. Oh, worked through lunch, took no breaks either…that’s a days work and a job well done in my books
“Those morons who come in at five to close are the stupidest people in the world”.. holy sh*t yer ridiculous
“Five to close” = open dumb dumb..
that’s the way she goes.. oftentimes in life things won’t work out perfectly for you.. the sooner you get over this the happier you’ll be
