I’m tired of the whole concept of political parties. I propose we ban them.
Most people automatically vote for the same party regardless. If there were no parties then maybe people would take the time to look at what each candidate had to offer. And elected officials could vote according to their promises and their best judgement rather than along party lines.
There would be less of this “protest vote” nonsense that got Trump elected. A protest vote is akin to cutting off your nose to spite your face. It just swings us back and forth from left to right with each party undoing what the other did so we end up making little net progress.
But most of all, I’m really tired of the rhetoric of the most vehement party supporters who seem to think that everyone who supports “the other side” is stupid, evil, or whatever. Party politics is just one more divisive entity that we don’t need.
