Well, here’s a shocker, Metro Transit needs to study why they cannot get the promised service up and running. Silence is golden from the Council and Mayor… We want to be seen as a go-to destination and have a beautiful airport, but no darned bus service.
They can shit-can the Seniors bus pdq, but this service needs further study. —Mungo Jerry

Just get Rumple-Teezer to pick you up. Problem solved!
why have a bus, when there are so many cabs fighting for your money?
I’ve always like the idea of a rapid-service train that goes direct from the Via Rail station with a few stops on the way to the airport. Not that it’ll ever happen, but you wouldn’t have to worry about traffic problems en route.
Well duh… there are already at least two bus services to the airport. I doubt very much that either one is interested in having metro transit usurp their long standing businesses.
I take the bus that runs from the Hotels to the Airport. Its good.
The trick is that with a taxi monopoly in Dartmouth by a non-responsive company (I think it is pure laundry for the new owner), if you want to make your flight you better take the bus, becasue you cannot dpend on a cab actually showing up. It is not the drivers – it is a dysfunctional dispatch and management. The drivers often don’t get the calls until 15 minutes after they were made, if at all.
So if you are going to the airport from Dartmouth. Take the bus. Or get the personal cellular number of a cabbie you know.
There’s the AirPorter bus and plenty of taxi cabs at the airport. We don’t need a Metro Transit bus at the airport holding up traffic and idling smoking all the airline passengers to death. Plus, do you really want someone’s first experience in Nova Scotia being the horrible Metro Transit service?
The airport authority should organise a bus service for airport employees and have the all the employers subsidies the service. Passengers can comtinue to use the other bus service.
LS— Not everyone can afford the $50 bucks for a cab to, or from the airport.
The bus would serve the employees mostly; and that’s why JB’s idea would work quite well.
I would also speculate that the airport service hinges on the new bridge terminal, and MT just can’t come out and say it thanks to the politics of it.
Transit bus to the airport would be cool. They don’t have it in Edmonton too, but we do have a cool City Centre Airport even though it’s about to be closed down. Funny place, this Edmonton, but I kind of like it.
