When I’m driving up North St, it’s not very nice to suddenly have a bike in front of my car. I share the road with bikers, so FOLLOW THE FREAKIN RULES! —Pissedoff

  1. OP, didn’t you know, they get to choose between which rules they want to follow at any given moment. They can be a pedestrian or they can be a vehicle. Whichever happens to be more convenient for them at the time.

  2. Taken as a group I’d say that there is a greater percentage of terrible automobile drivers than there are bad cyclists, just based on numbers alone. Ever heard of someone killing a pedestrian in a crosswalk with a bike? Or how about the lives of innocent people being lost because of drunk biking accidents?

FYI, a cyclist can (but shouldn’t usually) ride in front of your car. Only when making a left, and only as traffic allows. We actually have to be a LOT more vigilant than it appears.

At least some of us won’t be all ashen and flabby by 45.

  3. I dunno Boo, I think I’d sooner be on the business end of a defibrillator than wind up as road kill in a pair of fruity spandex cycle pants. That’s gotta rival auto-erotic asphyxiation in the Least-dignified Death sweepstakes.

  4. I had heard of cyclists hitting people in crosswalks and sidewalks actually. Not to mention all the times I’ve had to jump out of the way of bikers who feel they can cruise over crosswalks when there is someone in it and speed down sidewalks.
