I was trapped at work in Dart. due to the bridges being closed. Sure I could have driven the whole way around but that would have taken me darn near 45mins before I got home.
I understand the need for security and whatnot, but finding out just an hour before the closures that the closures would be happening was inconsiderate. I didn’t have anything I wanted to do when I got off work anyway.
ouch… doesn’t help that they’re closing a bridge down Canada Day either….
I have no idea why they would think that a good idea…
but won’t be bugging me. I’ll be sitting at my desk, working.
I agree….shutting down the bridges is a bit much. Do they think the suicidal jumpers are going to rush the MacDonald and flip over the barrier to drop in to meet her? Or people on the MacKay are going to ram their vehicle through the railing and park on the ship she’s on? I don’t think so.

the usual grind.
I’ve had 2 new years and one canada day holiday on the holiday in 6 years.
I generally don’t mind so much… especially around christmas time.
I’m not grinchy… I just prefer to hold the holiday for the spirit of it and not ‘has to be on this day because this is the bologna it represents’
To me, July 16th is Canada Day… and I WILL be celebrating it as such.

they don’t want no high wire snipers up there in the rigging. fucked up my whole day, and just after spending 3 hours sighting in too.
I had a lousy trip home on Monday, 1.5 hours instead of 35 minutes, so I took today off. HRH hasn’t been here for over 6 years so a little inconvenience isn’t bad.
The worst part of HRM in the summer is trying to get ANYWHERE because of all the roadworks.
It should be easier next week because all the schools are closed and the little tykes will be in their fart sacks until noon.

fucking royalty can’t spring for a helicopter to get around? there is absolutely NO NEED to screw up the traffic in this city worse than it is on a normal day because of this.

I’m pretty sure I watched the bridges close at least twice, if not three times just yesterday! That’s 3-4 times in less than 24 hours.
Um, wasn’t only one bridge shut down? And didn’t it have nothing to do with the queen?
