As a person who identifies with an alternative subculture(s), I tend to dress myself befitting to the lifestyle I lead and it gets noticed. I wanted to say to everyone who approaches me to tell me how nice they think I look, or how interesting and wonderful, a very big THANK YOU!!
I have a hard time coming up with what to say beyond thank you when approached, and it sometimes feels too automatic, but I really truly am grateful and so appreciative of your comments and your positivity on some days is the lighthouse on my shore line. Building up the confidence to be who you want to be and do what you love because you love it and it makes you happy is no small journey.

I have encountered a few people that I have wanted to tell how great they looked or that I liked their style, or tattoo, or what they were wearing but with so much sensitivity around women being treated like meat in this city I am concerned with inciting the wrong reaction.
Do I want to know a little more about you because I like the way you look? Maybe. But my main motivation is just to compliment and make some one feel good with a few kind words.
