I miss you so much. I miss talking and laughing with you. I miss the things we learned from each other and how good it felt just to be with you. I never knew until now that friend breakups are just as painful as romantic breakups. Maybe worse, if you don’t realize that best friends can break up, like I didn’t. Chest pain, grief, Facebook creeping, compulsively reviewing our last emails, teary-eyed at your name, losing sleep wondering what happened and wondering how you are. I was stoic and rational and tried to make you feel better about ending our friendship because I didn’t want you to feel badly and because I didn’t want to show you how I feel.
