East coast food—why are you so sweet? Pizza sauce tastes like ketchup with a cup of sugar added, stir fries come with one sauce—fuckin sweet teriyaki, you order a pasta dish and it’s sweet as holy fuck, everyone dips their pizza in something that only compares to ass and cake icing combined, mashed potatoes are sweet, carrots are boiled in sugar water… no wonder everyone here is fat as fuck. Stop putting so much sugar in everything. I’m going to call Wilfred Brimley soon to start advertising his diabeetus shit here cause he’d make a fucking mint. —Sweet Fuck All

  1. That’s why we like bitter beer to the tune of record profits every year.
We get enough salt from the air alone just breathing every day…
and we’re mostly sour people in demeanor.

We’ve covered all the bases… unless you believe in that umami stuff.

  2. lol I was with you until you ragged on donair sauce. You could always, you know, fuck off back to where you came from.

It is possible to eat healthy no matter where you live. Pretty sure obesity isn’t just a maritime phenom.

  3. Yeah, it’s the sugar that’ll get you. Not the processed meats, salt, cheese and dough with extra gluten that will get you, it’s that bastard sugar!!! Of course where you come pizza is clearly a health food, complete with cauliflower crust and tofurkey toppings. Suck a bag of dicks, OB!!!

  4. well o.p., if you really want to taste something real sweet, then suck my balls and dick. the cum will put you in seventh heaven. or so i’m told.

  5. Everything is ok in moderation. Even my diabetic ass can enjoy a piece of cake or donair here or there.

It’s the fruit that actually does me more damage.

Also what Tommy and SHITTY said.

  6. “everyone dips their pizza in something that only compares to ass and cake icing combined”

Is what I was referring to, Sonic.

Anyways if Ontario or whatever is so great then why do people come here? Oh I know because they couldn’t get into a school in their own province so they made mommy and daddy shell out the nation’s highest tuition so they could spend the next 4-7 years earning their worthless marketing degree , getting shit faced at the palace and complaining about how much better their hometown is than Halifax. It wouldn’t be so bad if people that grew up here could afford to fuckin live here and save enough for a comfortable retirement but the constant stream of rich kids who want to live downtown so they can run to class barely on-time, hung over and un-showered contributes to the sky high cost of living that doesn’t justify the earning potential here but hey, what do you care, you don’t have to worry about rent OR getting a decent paying job you blathering dickwad. All you have to do is remind the rest of us just how much better it is under whatever rock you crawled out from, WELL SAVE IT!

    *inhales*

You’ve just been stereotyped OP. How’d that feel?

I’m not fat as fuck and I love a nice fresh greasy slice of pep n cheese with a little cup of donair sauce to dip it in! Mmm! Magnifique! Learn to cook and/or fuck off and die.

  7. i prefer savoury over sweet, like dry rub on ribs instead of glucky sweet sauce. my oh my young thomas, that was a mouthful^^

  8. lol thanks for reading PG

Boru, I used to think you were a cool lady but I don’t know if I can associate with you after that last comment ;P

  9. BOO, your rant is awesome! There are so many of us native Haligonians who think the same thing, but most won’t say it. It felt good just reading it! YEAH!

  10. Boo I like your rant too….lol..Oh yea Boo… **on my knee’s beggen** Please,Please, forgive me for I know not what I speak…lol Grovel Grovel…LOL

  11. Oh no, not the diabeetus! I’d take Mr. Brimley more seriously if he could pronounce it correctly.

  12. LOOOOOOOOOOL usually I would tell someone off for dissing Scotia, however this post was just funny hahah. ‘fat as fuck’ almost made me die. “Sweet as Holy fuck” LOL But yes, people do eat like shit down here..but it’s all by choice.. Every place has their ‘signature’ food, ours happens to be Donairs. They are good..but again, it’s a choice. We have great markets and grocery stores that give the option to cook your own food that have no sugar or chemicals.. I’m not sure if you have grocery stores where you’re from.. but we do, and a lot of people use them. If you are going to a Donair joint, obviously you will be around other people who also go there to eat..and typically they are fat or skinny with great metabolism. If you go to Opa, Niche, Chives, and many others…you will eat healthier food and see much less people who seem to offend you with their excess fat

  13. OB…. I try to keep myself as far from the penninsula as I can…but I read in the paper today about Tomavino’s has reopened & is (amoung other things) making gluten free pizza crust & selling gourmet pizza’s down on south street again.
I remember having their pie several years ago & it was pretty good, although it wasn’t a gluten free pie…. but I gotta watch my sugars & gluten intake, so…
That will be worth looking into, next time I have to cross the bridge. Maybe you can get something there that’s a little closer to yer disposition which seems to be sour & salty
