Traffic is crawling. No one is getting anywhere. I am already 75 percent into the lane in front of you, the lane is mine. But you somehow get it in your mind that somebody did you wrong, so you pass me. It is a good thing that I am not an aggressive driver, as I would not have time to prevent the accident that you just about started. Your actions were so embarrassing, the driver behind you tried to apologize with a shrugging gesture. —Defensive Driver

the douchebags are out in force today. seeing as it is gonna be a miserable week end, they want to fuck as many as they can, NOW.
You may have just unwittingly offered an explanation as to why a lot of people do assinine shit like this.
“…the lane is mine.” She was thinking the exact same thing.
I wish people would just change their attitudes and start SHARING the road as opposed to CLAIMING ownership over it. They are so afraid of somebody getting even one car length ahead of them that they risk life and limb of not only themselves, but other road users, just to win that “personal victory” in their vacuuous little minds. If people would just stop treating every multi-lane roadway like it’s a grand prix circuit and they’re sitting in pole position and MUST maintain their position at all costs, everybody would get to their destinations in one piece, on time and with a whole lot less stress and rage. Accidents would be less, traffic snarls would be virtually non-existant and insurance rates would go down. (ha ha yeah right!) It’s a win-win.
What I REALLY don’t understand is people who RACE to work in the morning. Racing FROM work I can understand. TO work….I just don’t get that concept.
Pretty sure if she’s in the lane and you’re not, you need to yield…
The whole ‘be nice and let people out’ relies on just that…. people actually being nice.
It’s not mandatory and so it’s reasonable to expect some (if not most (if not all)) people to be jerks about it.
Actually, Ragez…everyone taking turns is not just a nice thing to do, it is the law.
check the ns motorvehicle act. Unless there is a sign stating otherwise( ie yeild). the left lane is supposed to yield right of way to merging traffic “whenever” it is safe to do so. In the case of backed up traffic like the the maghill, this would mean you absolutely have to yeild to merging traffic. It is a little difficult to say that it wasn’t safe to yeild, if you are at a complete stop.
“Yield” GV. I before E.
If traffic wasn’t moving why even worry about it OP?
LOL! I know this spot OP! Its where two lanes merge to one heading from Bedford/Sackille to Burnside. For some reason jerks like you think they “own” the left lane – and it is absolutely 1:1 !! I happily teach people this almost every morning – my car isn’t worth much. But teaching them they don’t “own” the road – priceless.
