Tim Chaisson’s stoic side.

Tim Chaisson has a couple of sides. There’s the country-tinged rocker who you’re probably familiar with, the one who commands a stage with his energetic band of buddies Morning Fold. But peel back a few layers like he did for this, his fifth release, and you get the very core of the PEI native: the storyteller. “This record is really about the songs, I focussed more on that than anything. I wrote 25 or 26 songs with different people on the road,” says Chaisson who says he looked to his rootsier side for inspiration for the stripped down, fresh-off-the-presses The Other Side. “I like to write alone as well, but this just opens up the song to a different level. It means a bit more.” Halifax marks the beginning of Chaisson’s next long haul on the road, this one will take him to the other side (of the country, that is) and back.
