Today I got off work at 4 and got home in the north end after 6. No #52 and no # 9 to be seen. I wonder how these drivers keep their jobs. —One pissed off rider

  1. Metro Transit sucks, we know. If I took it, it would take me almost 2.5 hours to get from my house in Dartmouth to work in Halifax. Driving takes me 20 minutes.

  2. There is the wonderful excuse of ‘traffic’.
That’s why they are so late (how they get to be early…I have no idea)
With todays GPS wired vehicles, one would think calling the stops phone number would get you a better idea when your bus is going to arrive, seeing as per satellite positioning tells where you are & how fast your moving but seems the office types, well they don’t let that info out. Maybe they’re not set up for it, perhaps its time they finally were !

  3. I’m wondering how long it is before MT launches it’s own ‘libel’ lawsuit against people who complain about it’s lackluster services.

Uh oh. That’s going to get me subpoenaed.

  4. More, it’s still not implemented.
I have no idea why it’s taken over a year…
considering halifax certainly isn’t the first place to do it.
looking forward to it though…actual live data is going to be sweet.

  5. Ride a bicycle, no more waiting…just go! Good for 75% of the year. Save money and increase fitness…win-win!

  6. While I generally agree Oceanlady not everybody is able to cycle due to any number of factors, such as prohibitive distance from point A to B, hills, or disability. Unfortunately some do need to wait for the ruddy bus 🙁

  7. You fucktards living under a rock or something? Construction is everywhere today, backing up Gottingen, North, Bayers, etc…

  8. I hear you jgoreham, and I sympathize with those unable to manage cycling but it’s a great alternative for those who are able.

  9. Only in Nova Scotia would they do road work in broad daylight, let alone rush hour like here in Halifax lol… And on main arterial routes with multiple bus lanes to boot.

  10. yea with high tech. lighting pretty much all major road work is down overnight in On. cities

  11. Construction all over the place and a couple major accidents, what do you expect? A Metro Transit Helicopter ? Bitch unwarranted, try driving in the traffic, and picking up everyone you see waiting on the street, see how long it takes you…

  12. i really feel for peoples who drive buses. the bipeds who exist out there can be a burden. i share some of your load…DISCLAIMER: i am not associated with public transportation

  13. I got off work at 4pm on Barrington on Thursday and the #9 got me to Mumford right on time

  14. how do they keep their jobs, easy, they work for you know who, in the hrm thing, that nothing ever gets done right at. did that answer your question

  15. And for the most part, the drivers are not at fault (except for a select few obviously). What is at fault is the whole bureaucracy, which is HRM, that allows for road work to be done in the middle of rush hour.

  16. Apparently the OP thinks the bus drivers should drive down the sidewalks or over the traffic in front of him to get back on time. Of course the OP would be the first to complain if the driver did that.

  17. but just think if no road work was being done, then you all would be bitching about that, and work at night, how many people don’t sleep at night. after dark or 10-12 p.m.

  18. At least you don’t get shot in the head asking someone for a cigarette on Metro Transit like you do on the LRT out here in Deadmonton! Fucking crazy. Was just at that station too… fucking scary shit. Luckily I don’t smoke!

  19. To be fair Q, you stand as much of a chance of getting shot for not giving a bum a smoke, as well. Here’s what I do when I’m on public transit. I pour water on my crotch so it looks like I’ve got a big fresh piss stain on my trou. I wear one of those little wool knit skullcaps and pretend to read a copy of the Koran in the original Arabic while mumbling to myself. I also carry a horking big backpack. Keeps 90% of the crazies away from me, and surprise, surprise I always get a seat.
