If the bus is late it is late for a reason. People bitching about this weekend and the buses being 30-60 minutes late: Did you stop to take into consideration that there was the marathon and there were 10 thousand runners, not including traffic and onlookers… Of course there going to be late. They’re buses… almost the same as any other vehicle… they breakdown, hit traffic, have emergencies with people on the buses, have sick drivers, have drivers that take wrong turns, have new drivers…
Give them a god damn break, they do the best that they can. Seriously people, shit happens. Their jobs suck-ass and they take abuse all day but we don’t see them ranting. If the bus leaves early… then bitch but when there late they really don’t have to much control over it. Shuttttttttttt up already. —Fellow transit passenger

I can’t really complain… I’m only usually right on time so it means I usually actually make the bus. I get more pissed when I make the mistake… missing a stop , thinking I’m on a different route, or not paying attention and getting off early and having to walk….

My SUV wasn’t late because I was driving it. Suckers get what they pay for with Metro Transit. Time for those to hit the dealerships.

It’s annoying because it’s a service and it’s supposed to be reliable (I know, perish the thought of Metro Transit being reliable). Of course people whose primary mode of transportation is the bus are going to be mad when their ride to work is late, or whatever. And seb, not everyone can afford a car. I don’t take the bus during the summer since I live so close to work, and I only take it during the school year because I get the U-Pass. Regardless, it’s still annoying when your bus is supposed to arrive at like 2:00 and doesn’t come until 2:30.
And to the OP, it’s not like this is something that’s exclusive to days when there are marathons. The buses are late all the time. I’m not saying like one minute past the time late, either.

hell I have a car and I take the bus. I’d much rather have someone else deal with all the idiots on the road in rushhour… not to mention it’s cheaper than parking downtown and yeah, no gas or wear on the car.

Realistically, the buses aren’t late all that much. Granted, it sucks moose balls on days like yesterday where normal traffic patterns are mangled by people running, but it’s not like the marathon wasn’t publicized well in advance, or like it hasn’t happened for the past 5 years so years or anything…
buses in and around the fairview area are going to be running a little for awhile. there is construction work on the gas pipe lines and also electrical lines.up around lacewood. and down by the tims on dutch village road. so do yourself a favor, leave 1/2 hour early.
yeah… and when the fuckin thing breaks down and they need a replacement to come, it’s even more late.
at least there were comfy seats…
