Here is some firm concert etiquette that everybody should know: you should not, under any circumstances, light up a cigarette at a crowded show. Your back is pressed up against some stranger’s front and you are going to light up and blow carcinogens in their face?? That’s the rudest most disgusting thing you can ever do.
Your decision to inhale that shit into your lungs is the stupidest decision you could ever make for your own health or finances (and you do NOT look cool) and nobody else should have to suffer for it. If you can’t hold back your addiction for an one hour set then step to the back of the crowd. Being outside isn’t excuse enough to light up wherever you want.

I tend to agree with OP. That is rude and unnecessary.
You went to a venue where smoking is allowed (ie:not specifically banned). It’s a legal product being used in a legal fashion. It may not be polite, but there is nothing you can do but, move yourself or ask that he/she put it out. When you are in public, there are things you will have to put up with, this is just one thing in a long list of annoyances. For the record I am a non smoker, and am not so blind to think that 1 hour of sporadic (non concentrated) smoke inhalation will do me any permenant damage. Get a life OB!
usually they are held in a no smoking place o.p., unless it is outside somewhere. then the chance of you getting a stray whiff are next to very little. but there are some sensitive beaks out there, that just wanna cause shit for anyone that does smoke, know someone?

I have a hard time believing that and I think there was probably enough room somewhere for you to get some fresh air…you were just feeling all elitist and want to blame someone else for not putting your needs ahead of their own.

Yeah outdoor shows are fair game, imo. I don’t like when people smoke in my face either but at a crowded outdoor show it’s gonna happen.
i was at summersonic as well. i smelled more weed than cigs. get over it. if i was offended by the smell of cigs or smoke, i’d move elsewhere.
