Not so much as a bitch, as a warning:

If you buy a car from a dealership and the salesperson/staff tell you you will get a “Customer Satisfaction Survey” in the mail in 4-6 weeks, DO NOT RETURN THE SURVEY TO THE DEALERSHIP! These surveys MUST be returned in the mail (often going to head offices) for an unbiased assessment.

They may offer you a free tank of gas or a free oil change… keep in mind this is a ploy for them to sneak a peak at the survey, which is supposed to never end up in their hands.

Not all dealerships are nice… some have skeletons in their trunks. —Crooked Car Salesperson Tricks

  1. oooo, it’s a conspiracy!
personally, I’d trade some stupid survey for a tank of gas any day.

  2. Technically speaking, corporate ends up sending the comments back to the dealership anyways. So… uh…

  3. What’s the matter with corporate reading it anyway?
Maybe it’ll invoke changes. You know – since salespeople want to keep their jobs, I’m sure any suggestions you make would be modified so to appease upper management, once reported by sales to corporate, and not the customer for whom it’s supposed to help.
Honesty is key, and going to the top yourself (even if you’re misled), would probably do more than what a Yes-Man/Woman would ever get done.

  4. If they wanna read my survey for a free oil change or free tank of gas, be my guest…

  5. Unethical car salespeople…who’d of thunk it!
Still, I appreciate the heads-up…I wouldn’t have sent it in regardless but if I decided to, I would want my complaints to go to the people who could do something about them.

  6. you get what you pay for, or you get sucked in, by the nefarious car sales person.so what you gopnna do about a survey, either take it or don’t, simple, right.

  7. As long as the car I buy isn’t a lemon, I don’t care WHO reads it if involves free gas.

    Just sayin’ 😉

  8. LS, Whatcha gonna do, brother… when the nefarious car salesmen run wild on you?

  9. New cars are a waste of money.. I prefer to buy lease buy-backs, about 5 years old.. They usually come with a warranty, and I can get on average 5 years without serious money for repairs.. I’m on my 17th vehicle, but I’ve never had a car loan more than 2 yrs.. saves more than a few tanks of gas I think..
